‘Tis the season for greetings. Greeting Updates, that is!
I know, the holidays seem to come earlier each year. I love the holidays but normally, I’d be the last guy to talk about how many shopping days there are before Christmas. In this case, though, we’re actually talking about how you communicate with your customers – a case near and dear to my heart – so I’m making an exception.
Is your phone system ready? Do you have a holiday business schedule? Do you have special greetings recorded and ready to play based on your holiday business schedule?
Whether it’s to schedule an appointment, order a product, or reach a particular person, your customers expect to be able to reach you by phone.
Want to get proactive? Most phone systems allow for the programming of special greetings and call routing for holidays up to one year in advance. That way, your callers will be greeted by the options and information that fit the situation no matter what day it is. But this requires planning.
